Shipping a Car for a PCS Move
- Get a quote with your current and new locations, and your report date.
- Pick a pickup window that fits your out-processing.
- Hand over the car, or have someone you trust do it, and sign the inspection report with the driver.
- Fly or drive your other car to your new duty station. The car follows.
Keep a copy of your quote, the bill of lading and your receipt. Your transportation office may ask for them.

Military Car Shipping Questions
Will the military pay to ship my car?
It depends on your orders. For most moves within the continental U.S., service members drive their own car or ship it at their own cost. Overseas moves are different. Check with your installation’s transportation office about what your orders cover and what you may be reimbursed for.
Can someone else release or receive my car if I’ve already left?
Yes. Name a spouse, friend or family member to hand over or accept the car and sign the inspection report. Give us their name and number when you book.
Can you deliver to a base?
Many bases restrict commercial trucks, so delivery is usually just outside the gate or at a nearby lot. Tell us the base and we’ll plan the meeting spot.
What if my report date is close?
