Motorcycle Shipping
A motorcycle needs a different setup than a car: wheel chocks, soft straps on the frame, and a driver who knows how to load a bike without dropping it. Some carriers ship bikes on open or enclosed car carriers with motorcycle fittings, and some use dedicated motorcycle trailers. We’ll find the right one for your bike and route.
Tell us the make and model, whether it runs, and anything custom, like extended forks, a lowered frame, or aftermarket exhaust and fairings. That decides which carrier fits.
ATVs, UTVs and Golf Carts
Off-road vehicles and golf carts are small but heavy for their size, and lifted or modified ones can be tall. Let us know the dimensions and weight if you have them, and whether it runs, so it can be driven or winched on.
Jet Skis and Slingshots
Personal watercraft usually ship on their own trailer, towed or loaded onto a carrier. A three-wheeled Slingshot ships much like a car, often with soft straps because of the single rear wheel.
Getting Your Bike Ready
- Leave about a quarter tank of fuel.
- Check for leaks, and make sure the battery is secure.
- Remove loose gear, covers and anything that could fly off.
- Note any scratches and take dated photos.
- Give the driver a key, plus any alarm or immobilizer instructions.
Motorcycle and Specialty Questions
How is a motorcycle secured for shipping?
It depends on the carrier. Bikes are usually strapped upright with soft tie-downs, often in a wheel chock, and some carriers ship them crated or on a pallet. Tell us your bike’s make, model and anything custom, and we’ll match it with a carrier set up for motorcycles.
Do I need to drain the fuel?
Usually you just need a low tank, about a quarter full. Make sure there are no fluid leaks, and the battery is secure and charged.
Can you ship a jet ski or a golf cart?
Yes. Jet skis and personal watercraft usually ship on their trailer. Golf carts, ATVs, UTVs and Slingshots ship on carriers set up for them. Tell us the size, weight and whether there’s a trailer.
Can I leave saddlebags or gear on the bike?
Remove loose items, helmets, GPS units and anything that could come off in transit. Hard saddlebags that are bolted on are usually fine; tell us about them.
